Chinese is the second largest language in the world after English.
(Web Desk) Although English has been the dominant world language for over a century and is still spoken and taught in most countries, you may be surprised to know that Chinese is the second most spoken language worldwide. However, according to the Gut blend website and several surveys, Chinese is now the most spoken language in the world. And a large population of the world uses it as a first and second language.
According to the foreign news agencies, Mandarin is the official and standard language spoken in large parts of China. Cantonese is spoken in Guangdong Province and other parts of China, as well as in Macau and Hong Kong. Cantonese is close to the oldest forms of the language and is a very conservative Chinese dialect. It consists of nine tones: three short syllables; and six for regular length. On the other hand, Mandarin is very different from southern dialects such as Cantonese. It has a neutral, unscripted accent with four tones and many linguists argue that Mandarin and southern people like to think of dialects as different languages. Mandarin is usually written in Simplified Chinese, while Cantonese is written in Traditional Chinese.
Until recently, everyone used traditional Chinese, but then the government released new simplified Chinese characters which made learning the language much easier. It was aimed at increasing the education rate and eliminating illiteracy, so it was very popular. Simplified by reducing the number of pen strokes required to write letters.
There is always a steady stream of requests for interpreters and translation services for Chinese. Most translators consider Chinese the most difficult language to translate, even for first-language speakers. There are great challenges in the art of translation. Accurate translation requires extensive experience. A Chinese to English translator must also be highly experienced and qualified as the complexities of the Chinese language can cause misunderstandings.
It is worth noting here that most statistics and sources have compiled a list of the ten most common languages in the world in terms of number of speakers. It accounts for about 25% of the world’s speakers and their number is more than 1.8 billion. It is the official language of many countries, while there are speakers in every country.
